Bibles Are Free

At Okay Flea Market, our vendors often come up with a varied assortment of Bibles in their stock. But to my knowledge, none of our vendors sell their Bibles. Instead, they GIVE them away!

Not all vendors carry Bibles. Some give theirs to other vendors that keep a supply so that they can dispense them. Vendors that do have them often run out, but they are happy to pass them on to new homes when they do have them. At the time this post was written, Vendor #38 has the two Bibles seen in this pic in stock, ready for their new owners.

Other vendors may also currently have Bibles in stock. Feel free to walk around and ask each vendor if they have any. They would be glad to give you one if they do.

Also, if you have any extra Bibles that you would like to get to a new home, you are welcome to bring them on out and leave them with one of our vendors that keep them in stock. They would be glad to find your beautiful Bible a new home.

Note: Bibles are freely given away strictly for personal use. They are not given to anyone who has the intention of reselling them. Thank you!

Online Sellers Pick-Up Point

Today, many people are selling their handmade and flea market type items online. Some are even holding their garage sales online. With people's lives busier than ever, this trend seems to work very well for both buyer AND seller. But what about safety?

When you sell an item online, you usually don't know the buyer, and visa versa. Sure, they may have a profile listed and appear to be the sweetest, nicest person on Earth, but how do you know what they wrote is real?  How do you know someone isn't just trying to come case out your house? Or how do you know that the seller isn't trying to lure you to his/her house to do who knows what to you? This isn't usually the case, but it only takes one time to result in tragedy. I recently was told by someone that sells online that a buyer was trying to get him/her to meet them after 10:30pm to pick up an end table that was being sold online! That was an obvious Red Flag, but not all Red Flags are so obvious and you can't be too careful.

Then there are the Meet-Up points. You sell something online .... you purchase something online, then you agree to meet at some 'in between' point for delivery/pick-up. This, too, can be very dangerous, even if meeting in a parking lot. In a flash you could be hustled into someone's vehicle and driven away .....

So what can you do? What is a safe alternative? One great suggestion is to make Okay Flea Market your Pick-Up/Delivery Point! The nominal fee for the weekend set-up covers three full days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and is a very small price to pay for your safety. You could choose one day a weekend, or all three days, to meet up with your customers and deliver their items. You don't even have to stay an entire day, just long enough to deliver your sold items. It is a very public place where people are milling about, everyone (other vendors) watches out for everyone and this option is much safer than meeting up in a parking lot somewhere or at your home. Unlike other Flea Markets where you sometimes are required to set up at a certain time, stay until a certain time, or for the entire weekend, there are no limits here. You are welcome to set up at whatever time is best for you and leave when you want to. Okay Flea Market is an excellent and safe option for delivery of your online sales. It will make your customers feel safer, too, which could very easily also increase your sales. So give us a try and have a great weekend!

Set-Ups to Sell

For those that want to set up to sell at the Okay Flea Market, there are many options available. Of course, those that are renting a building have the option of simply opening up their building, setting their sale items out in front of their building, or setting up somewhere out on the grounds. There is no additional charge for their set-up above the rental fee of their building.

For the person that likes to set up only occasionally, have an annual garage sale, or set up every weekend and simply doesn't want to rent a building, you, too, have several options to set up. You also have a choice of reserving your 'space' in advance, or taking your chances when you arrive that your favorite spot will be available.

If you like to set up in the wide open and bright sunshine, there is plenty of space for that right out in the very middle of the flea market. The grass is kept neatly mowed and you have plenty of space to spread out.

If you prefer to set up under a shade tree, although there is a limited number of them, there are still several great shade trees to set up under. A popular favorite is the Big Oak Tree right at the entrance. It is easily seen from the highway, it's the first vendor customers see as they drive in, and in warm weather, it has a wonderful breeze flowing through the area making it the coolest spot on the place. But if this is your favorite spot to set up to sell, you would be wise to reserve it in advance, as it is usually the first spot to be taken as the weekend approaches. It is even already reserved for one of the weekends in May!

Another excellent place to set up is under the Arbors (as seen in the picture above). The Arbors themselves provide great shade, while the many trees surrounding them lend further shade and coolness in the warmer weather. It is also great protection to your sale items in case an unexpected rain comes up and aids in a wind break on windy spring days. The best part about setting up under the Arbors is that if you are one of the first ones to set up, you can have access to the electric outlet, if you need it. You are welcome to reserve your space here, as well.

Whatever type of outdoor atmosphere you like to set up under, you will probably find it here at Okay Flea Market. Plus, the prices/fees are exceptionally low and the other vendors are very warm, friendly, and easy to work with.

Besides setting up as a regular Flea Market vendor, Okay Flea Market is also a great place to host your garage sale. You have lots of room to spread your things out, it's in a high traffic area with established customers, set-up (which includes a mention of you in the weekly advertising if you let us know in advance) is far less expensive than advertising in the newspaper, and best of all, you don't have strangers coming to your house pilfering about. So come on out and check us out. We would love to meet you!
